Farm and Garden Books
Small Farm, Sustainable, Organic Crops and Livestock
Gardening, Organic Gardening and Food Preservation
The following is a list and link to the pages of books that I have assembled to give you a
quick comparison of the books available to you. These are all Amazon book offerings. When you click on one of the
books, it will take you to the Amazon order page where you can further review your choice. Most of the selections
allow you to open the book and inspect the table of contents and several pages of text. The selection of books here
are almost all 4 and 5 star rated, those that are not are newer books from recognized publishers.
Farm-Books-1: The majority of
these books are focused on small farm sustainability and profitability. They cover farm management, economics, and
marketing. Many of the selections cover sustainable and organic farming.
Farm-Books-2: Again the focus is
on small farms sustainable and organic. On this page there is more emphasis on hobby farms and rural living.

page covers raising cattle, beef and dairy, pigs, sheep, dairy goats and meat goats. They include management,
health, sustainability, economics, profitability, organic and marketing.

I have tried to put together the top ranked books in each of the categories listed above. I
truly hope that you are able to find one or two that spark your interest.
If you are looking for links to just about anything relating to agriculture, then take a look
at the Agriculture Info section of this site. I have put together direct links
to hundreds of informational websites related to agriculture. All of the links have a description of the site to
help you sort through which one's you would like to visit.
The Government section has the USDA and all of it's departmental home
pages. The Ag News section is the top online and offline ag news
publications. Next on the list is the Ag Assoc. & Org. This is a large
section with nine categories. I have sought out the web sites for hundreds of national associations and
organizations involved in agriculture. You'll find links to organizations such as Farm Bureau, FFA, 4-H, ATTRA,
SAGE, SARE, American Livestock Breeds Conservancy and the OGBC. You can find farmers markets near you or
information on alternative, production, sustainable and organic crops and alternative, dairy, exotic, production
and organic livestock. The last section is the Ag Education section that links you
to the top agricultural universities and colleges in the United States. The majority of these are Land-Grant
Universities with Cooperative Extension Services set up to assist the public with their agricultural endeavors. At
the bottom of the education main page there is a link to a site that will link you to the Cooperative Extension
Service in your area.
