National and Regional Dairy Associations

This is a short list of the national and regional dairy associations. I have tried to list some of the larger organizations. Most notably the national organizations involved in government policy, trade, research, nutrition and education, production and marketing. There are dairy associations or cooperatives in almost every county across the United States.

National Dairy Council - The Dairy Connection:    National Dairy Council® (NDC) is the nutrition research, education and communications arm of Dairy Management Inc™. On behalf of U.S. dairy farmers, NDC provides science-based nutrition information to, and in collaboration with, a variety of stakeholders committed to fostering a healthier society, including health professionals, educators, school nutrition directors, academia, industry, consumers, and media.

National Milk Producers Federation:    NMPF provides a forum through which dairy farmers and their cooperatives formulate policy on national issues that affect milk production and marketing. This helps to improve the economic well being of dairy farmers and assure the nation's consumers an adequate supply of pure, wholesome milk and dairy products.

U.S. Dairy Export Council:    The U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC) is a non-profit, independent membership organization that represents the export trade interests of U.S. milk producers, proprietary processors, dairy cooperatives, and export traders. The Council was founded in 1995 by Dairy Management Inc. (DMI), the farmer-funded marketing, promotion and research organization, to build global demand for U.S. dairy products and assist the industry in increasing the volume and value of exports.

American Dairy Science Association:    The American Dairy Science Association provides leadership in scientific and technical support to sustain and grow the global dairy industry through generation, dissemination, and exchange of information and services.

Dairy Farmers of America:    Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. is a dairy marketing cooperative that serves and is owned by nearly 18,000 dairy farmers in 48 states. DFA is one of the country’s most diversified manufacturers of dairy products, food components and ingredients, and is a leader in formulating and packaging shelf-stable dairy products.

NSW Farmers Associations Dairy Committee:    The NSW Farmers Associations Dairy Committee aims to improve the profitability of dairy farmers in NSW. The Committee is a member of the Specialist Commodity Section of the Association which provides autonomy in policy decisions specific to the dairy industry whilst maintaining close links with the Association on general issues and member services.

American Dairy Association & Dairy Council:    American Dairy Association & Dairy Council, Inc has been serving dairy farmers in the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania states since 1962. We specialize in the promotion of generic dairy products for the purpose of increasing the sales of milk and dairy products.  At this site, you will discover all about our promotion programs, as well as our courteous and resourceful staff.

Northeast Dairy Association:    Established in 2006, Northeast Dairy Association is a trade association whose membership is made up of suppliers, vendors, companies and organizations servicing the dairy processing, manufacturing and distribution industries in the Northeast U.S.

Midwest Dairy Association™:    (MDA) is a non-profit organization that is financed and directed by the dairy producers in nine states - Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and eastern Oklahoma.

Central Plains Dairy Association:    The Central Plains Dairy Association works hard to provide growers with a comprehensive list of products and services provided by association members. Most of theses association members are located near the I-29 corridor and are able to serve you in a timely fashion.

Western Dairy Association:    Our dairy farm families work hard every day to bring you fresh, great tasting, wholesome milk products. All the dairy farms in WDA’s region are family-owned and operated, and as active members of their communities, they take pride in maintaining our natural resources.

Northwest Dairy Association:    Headquartered in Seattle, Northwest Dairy Association (NDA) is an integrated milk marketing and processing cooperative, owned by more than 550 dairy producers.

All Star Dairy Association Inc., Lexington, Kentucky:    The Association specializes in volume pricing negotiated with over 150 suppliers on behalf of its members. Other services include marketing, training, quality assurance, carton design, monthly correspondence, annual convention, networking, consulting, careers and scholarships.
