Berea College, Agriculture and Natural Resources: Berea, KY.
ANR majors can gain unique practical experience working on the College’s educational farm, which includes beef
cattle, hogs, sheep, goats, field crops, and a horticultural operation that produces certified organic
vegetables, fruits, herbs, as well as a variety of annual and perennial ornamental's for retail sale. The work
experience gained from the College Farm complements classroom learning and provides a real advantage to students
through skill development and management training.
Eastern Kentucky University, Department of Agriculture:
Richmond, Kentucky. The agricultural and horticulture curricula provides career training for your success in
government agencies, Agriculture Education Instruction, finance, agribusiness, livestock operations,
landscaping, floriculture and turf grass management. Graduates have found success in all these areas. Our
program stresses the latest technical information in the classroom with application at the university farm,
greenhouses and turf plots and through Co-op education. Both the University farm and greenhouse operations
support our "hands on learning" program. Class size is small leading to excellent student-faculty relationships.

Morehead State University, Department of Agricultural
Sciences: Morehead, Kentucky. Morehead State University’s Agriculture
department offers a wide variety of courses that allow students to be exposed to all major facets of

Western Kentucky University, Department of Agriculture:
Bowling Green, Kentucky. The 780 acre farm is utilized by students for classes, labs, and a place to
gain experience in their area of interest by working for one of the farms many operations. Livestock
enterprises consist of dairy, beef, swine, equine, goats and back grounding cattle, each of which provide a
solid background for both Animal Science and Pre-Veterinary careers. Additionally, a variety of crops are
produced including corn, soybeans, wheat, grass hay, and alfalfa. This portion of the farm provides hands
on experience for Agronomy, Plant Science, Horticulture and Turf Management careers as well as those interested
in the various aspects of Soil Science.
